Training Courses on Industrial Boiler Efficiency Evaluation Technique

As one of the series of activities of the Human Resource Development Program to promote the development of efficient boiler market in Vietnam within the framework of the Project “Promotion of Energy efficient industrial boiler adoption and operating practice in Vietnam” which was jointly implemented by Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) and United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in the period of 11/2015-05/2020, the third training course on “Industrial boiler efficiency evaluation technique” was organized at Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city in June and July of 2019.
The purpose of this Training Program is to provide needed knowledge, tools and skills to help attended energy managers of industrial enterprises to become technicians who are capable of conducting the boiler efficiency evaluation as well as to implement boiler efficiency improvement measures at their enterprises in order to save energy. This plays a very important role in achieving the overall goal of the project, aiming at reducing energy consumption and reducing greenhouse gas emissions in Vietnam industrial sectors and contributing to the global goal on climate change mitigation.

Following the success of the two previous training courses, two these trainings attracted 90 energy managers/boiler workshops managers from 44 industrial enterprises in different industrial sectors such as rubber processing, food processing, tobacco, textile, galvanized steel, shoes manufacturing, sugarcane and boiler manufacturing, steam provision in Hanoi, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Hai Phong, Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, Thanh Hoa, Binh Duong, HCMC, Dong Nai and Tay Ninh. The main lecturers of the training courses are Mr. Nguyen Xuan Quang, Lecturer of Bach Khoa University, Hanoi and Mr. Nguyen Quyet Thang, Project Technical Officer.
According to participants’ feedback, the information, knowledge and tools that were provided in the course are very useful to help enterprises identify the main heat losses in boiler operation; understand the boiler operating cost structure as well as understand the boiler efficiency improvement solutions/measures; understand the methods of quantifying the energy savings as well as the cost savings from boiler efficiency improvement. Moreover, the participants also highly appreciated the practical knowledge and experience of the two lecturers and the way of organizing the training courses of the Project Management Unit, especially impressed with the way how to reduce waste plastic bottle during training courses.
